Usability Award at Lucent Technologies: A Case Study
|

Talk Summary
In a usability nirvana, everyone (not just the usability experts)
should be able to provide an answer to the question: What makes your product
usable? In reality, however, most people answer that question with a
list of features instead of explaining how the product design was
focused on users and their tasks. How can we teach our non-usability-expert
colleagues what usability is and why it is important to think about it
while designing a product or service?
Promoting usability in a corporation is always a challenge. To raise
awareness about the value of usability, Lucent's Usability Special
Interest Group (USIG) had a marvelous idea.
