JOB: Interaction Web Designer (Princeton/NYC)

Description:
This financial corporation’s Global eBusiness team is seeking an Interaction Designer as part of its Global User Experience & Design team. Reporting to the manager of the user experience & design team in Princeton, NJ, the candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment to develop front-end user interfaces, create proposals, functional specs, flow charts and schematics for the U.S. Retail business, including web-based and mobile-friendly tools and applications and mobile applications. Acting as the “users advocate”, the designer will be responsible for conceptual development, driving the interaction design processes and quality assurance testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in product definition and strategy process.
  • Translate stakeholder objectives and business requirements into conceptual and visual solutions.
  • Partner with User Experience team members to conduct user research and testing.
  • Develop user personas, scenarios and interaction models.
  • Present interaction design concepts.
  • Create wireframes & diagrams to represent front-end content/information, architecture and interaction design.
  • Document states and usage of visual elements and interactive devices.
  • Create interactive prototypes.
  • Partner with Visual Designers to ensure consistent approach in brand standards.
  • Collaborate with team members, developers and third parties to ensure the integrity of the interaction is maintained throughout the project cycle.
  • Support quality assurance testing process.
  • Conduct mini expert reviews.
  • Create frameworks for testing and then apply results from the testing.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, User Experience or related field required.
  • Minimum 7 years web design in a corporate environment (at least 2 years) or large design agency required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years interaction design experience in a corporate environment required.
  • Passionate about designing intuitive, innovative user interactions
  • Expert knowledge of relevant design programs & tools including but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, XML, CSS.
  • Strong written, verbal and visual communication skills.
  • The ability to multi-task and deliver under aggressive deadlines
  • Strong strategic thinker.
  • The ability to work in a collaborative environment
